Little Twinkle Throwback Thursday!

Hello!

I am here today with a Throw Back Thursday project to share with you! My daughter's best friend got married last year and I wanted to do something special for her. They have been best friends since Kindergarten, so this wonderful girl is part of our family! I had grand plans to make her a quilt, and I bought all of the fabric, but then Covid hit and all of my plans were put on hold. Online school and keeping everyone happy and healthy during the pandemic became the priority. I finally did finish her quilt, although it was pretty late, and I made a card to go with it. The now retired Little Twinkle Stamp Set was a perfect match for her quilt!

The background paper for the card front is from the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin! I embossed the constellation heart onto water color paper, then used ink and a Water Painter to color in the heart. To finish off the card, I fussy cut the heart, then embossed the little dipper and the Congratulations sentiment.
Here is a close-up:

Here is the card along side the quilt:

And here is the quilt! The pattern is called NightSky by Nina Dodge of Skyclad Quilts. I found it on Etsy and immediately knew this was the quilt I wanted to make. The most fun things about this quilt are the constellations! I looked up the constellations that were visible in the sky on the night of my daughter's friend's wedding. Then I embroidered them onto the quilt before I quilted it. There was no moon visible the night of the wedding, so I didn't add a moon although the pattern has a moon on it.

Both the card and the quilt were so fun to make! And my daughter has already requested that I make her a similar quilt sometime in the future!

Simple Stamping with A Touch of Ink!

Good morning!
Have you ever heard the saying "If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing"? I heard that awhile back and it made me laugh! That is so me! Especially when I'm creating cards or other craft projects. I love to add layers, texture and embellish when I'm creating!
There is nothing wrong with that! But sometimes simple is good, and beautiful! So today, I'm keeping it simple with this set of note cards that I made with the gorgeous Sale-a-Bration stamp set, A Touch of Ink.

These 3x3 note cards are made with just stamps, paper and ink! I used a Water Painter to add more colors to the images (you could also use a small paint brush or a cotton swab), but that's it! The images in this stamp set are beautiful on their own, even without added embellishments!

This stamp set is awesome!! The set includes multiple sentiments and words, line art stamps and stamps to fill in color. It's so versatile! I love, love, love it!!
And the best part is, this set is FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-Bration! Sale-a-Bration is happening now until February 28, 2021. For more Sale-a-Bration details click here.

Snail Mail Love!

Hello again!

Are you all in the mood for a little more Snail Mail love? I know I am!! The Snail Mail Suite is one of my fav collections in the New January-June Mini Catalog! I am in love with it! I featured these products in my last blog post, but I was on a roll and created another card with the suite!

I

This card was so fun to make and it came together really quickly! I masked off the borders of the card front and then used Sponge Daubers to apply Granny Apple Green for the Grass and Balmy Blue for the Sky! Tip: After inking the Sponge Dauber, sponge on a scrap piece of paper until you get the desired color. I prefer a soft look for backgrounds, so I always do this so the color isn't too dark.

The two sets of Watercolor Pencils were perfect for the look that I was going for on this card and one little Resin Heart looks adorable on the love note! It's hard to see in the photo, but one set of mushrooms and the snail are popped up with Dimensionals to add depth to the card.

What have you made with the Snail Mail Suite?

Monday Montage Week #181

Happy New Year to all of my Stampin' friends! I wish you all of the best in 2021! I am excited for this year and I have a lot of plans for projects coming up! There are so many awesome products in the new January-June Mini Catalog! And the Sale-a-Bration offerings are phenomenal as well!

When I first looked through the new Mini Catalog, the Snail Mail Suite caught my attention right away! The images are so adorable and the embellishments are to die for! The Resin Hearts are so tiny and sweet and... there is a twine combo pack! It is a two color pack that includes Blushing Bride and Basic White twine! White Twine is back!!! I am so excited to have that crafting staple back-I missed it so much! And the Blushing Bride Twine is amazing too!

I created two cards with this suite to share with you today. Both cards are super cute! The first one is very simple and easy to put together-the perfect solution for a quick Valentine. And the second one is stepped up a bit for those that want to do a little more!

Have a look!

Aren't both of these so fun? I love the bright colors and patterns in the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper (DSP)! Here is a closer look at each one!

For the first card I added some strips of Bermuda Bay Cardstock and a strip of Snail Mail DSP. Next I cut out some DSP with the postage stamp die in the Snail Dies. I also cut out the snail with a die from the same set, right from the DSP-how easy is that? Isn't it fabulous when the dies coordinate with the stamp set AND the DSP? It is such a time saver! The sentiment is cut out of Basic Gray Cardstock with the Well Written Dies and the card is finished off with some of my favorite twine!!

To step up this card, I changed the shape of my background papers and added the cutest little mushrooms from the Snail Dies, some Resin Hearts and Blushing Bride Twine. To make the sentiment pop a bit more, I cut the words in Basic Gray and Blushing Bride and layered them, off setting them slightly so the Blushing Bride peeks through underneath, giving the sentiment a bit of a border. This card is still simple to make, but is embellished just a little bit more.

One more thing before I go! Remember that Sale-a-Bration is happening now! You can choose a free product from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog for every $50 (level 1) or $100 (level 2) Purchase! The Snail Mail Suite is $69.50-so you can choose a free Sale-a-Bration item if you order the suite! You can also order the products from the suite individually as well.
