Little Twinkle Throwback Thursday!

Hello!

I am here today with a Throw Back Thursday project to share with you! My daughter's best friend got married last year and I wanted to do something special for her. They have been best friends since Kindergarten, so this wonderful girl is part of our family! I had grand plans to make her a quilt, and I bought all of the fabric, but then Covid hit and all of my plans were put on hold. Online school and keeping everyone happy and healthy during the pandemic became the priority. I finally did finish her quilt, although it was pretty late, and I made a card to go with it. The now retired Little Twinkle Stamp Set was a perfect match for her quilt!

The background paper for the card front is from the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin! I embossed the constellation heart onto water color paper, then used ink and a Water Painter to color in the heart. To finish off the card, I fussy cut the heart, then embossed the little dipper and the Congratulations sentiment.
Here is a close-up:

Here is the card along side the quilt:

And here is the quilt! The pattern is called NightSky by Nina Dodge of Skyclad Quilts. I found it on Etsy and immediately knew this was the quilt I wanted to make. The most fun things about this quilt are the constellations! I looked up the constellations that were visible in the sky on the night of my daughter's friend's wedding. Then I embroidered them onto the quilt before I quilted it. There was no moon visible the night of the wedding, so I didn't add a moon although the pattern has a moon on it.

Both the card and the quilt were so fun to make! And my daughter has already requested that I make her a similar quilt sometime in the future!

Thanks for stopping by!
