Monday Montage Week #139

It's Monday Montage time! And I'm so happy you're hopping with us today! I have my masculine card class coming up this week, so I've been making cards that can be used for Fathers Day or a masculine birthday/thinking of you card. And these cards feature two techniques that are so fun!

The first technique is oh, so cool! I just knew all those gears in the Geared Up Garage bundle needed to be rusty and old and amazing! so I searched Pinterest and found a faux rust tutorial by Kim Fee! It is so fun! And it is incredible that Crumb Cake Cardstock can look like rusty metal!!! I didn't do as many layers of ink and clear embossing powder as Kim suggests in her tutorial, but I love the results just the same!! Here is a closer look at the first card:

Sooo, I went a little crazy with the faux rust (because I love it so much) and decided to try the floating frame technique. Have you seen this technique? It is so fun and has quite the "wow factor". And you get to make two cards at once which makes the effort even more worth it! Also, there is a very unexpected household item that makes the floating frame technique so easy.....Glad Press 'n Seal!! And this technique requires a lot of dimensionals!

Here is the second card that I made with the cut out piece from the first card. This one came together in a snap!!!

And just for fun, here is a close up of the amazing "rusty" gears.

Hello!
I just wanted to share the May Paper Pumpkin hints with you! I love that they are giving us hints so we have an idea of what kind of projects are coming in the Paper Pumpkin kits. This month looks like it is going to be fabulous and right up my alley!
Here is what Stampin' Up! has to say about the May kit:
-This May, you’re in for a treat. Paper Pumpkin has teamed up with Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up!’s board chair and cofounder, to deliver you a very special Paper Pumpkin kit. It’s exclusive, collectible, and one of a kind. Die-hard Paper Pumpkin and Stampin’ Up! fans won’t want to miss this special edition.
The look and feel of this kit is all Shelli. It’s elegant, feminine, and so full of springtime details that you’ll probably just want to take a walk, breathe in the fresh air, and then go home and stamp every card in the kit. And the box it comes in? We predict that you’ll be keeping it . . . like . . . forever. Wait and see.-

Monday Montage Week #138

Hello and welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop! We are excited to have you hop with us today! And I am excited to share with you a masculine card combining two amazing stamp sets, Waterfront and Best Catch. These two sets are a match made in heaven!!

I love how the watercolor images of the Waterfront Stamp Set make it look like the mountains are way in the distance. The detailed images of the Best Catch Stamp Set really stand out against the more subtle details of the nature background. It is a great contrast! You can't see very well in this close-up, but I also gave the fish some shimmer with my go-to product, Wink of Stella. It is the perfect touch for this rainbow trout!

It is so fun to mix stamp sets for even greater variety in your projects! If you haven't tried mixing and matching your stamps, give it a try!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'm sure you don't want to miss out on any of the projects my friends have for you  so keep on hopping!
