Monday Montage Week #196

Happy Monday everyone! Thanks for joining us for another fun Monday Montage Blog Hop! School is in session and that means I should have more time to stamp, right? Well, not so much. We have had family in town and I have several projects in full swing right now. So, I am sharing birthday cards for my August birthday kids. My oldest daughter and my only son were born in August, so I made cards for both of them and never shared them! I figure this is the perfect time!

My son's birthday is first, so here is his card! I bet you can't guess what he got for his birthday 😃! I thought it would be fun to make an X-box controller card to go along with the X-box. It might be a little hard to see because it is white on white, sorry about that! First, I drew the shape of the controller on Basic White Cardstock and then cut it out with Paper Snips. Using a sponge dauber, I sponged the edges with Gray Ganite Classic Ink so that the controller would stand out against the background. Basic Black Cardstock, the largest Circle Die from the Layering Circles Dies and the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder was all it took to make the background look like the actual X-Box itself. I used a variety of circle punches that I have on hand (all retired) to make the buttons and the little X-box insignia was traced and cut out. All in all, I am happy with the way it turned out and he was happy too!

My oldest daughter loves the beach. We all do in my family, but she really LOVES the beach. She lived in Hawaii last semester because she could do online school, so why not? And she had the best time. She went to the beach everyday and enjoyed every minute of it! So, I thought the Friends are Like Seashells Stamp Set would be perfect for her birthday card! And I was right, she loved it! Torn cardstock is perfect for the water and the sand, and the large shape stamp for adding color to the shells was a fun way to add dimension to the water! The seaweed is from the Smooth Sailing Dies and the Linen Thread is my go-to for bows!

I hope you like my August birthday cards! They were both so fun to make! And I am hoping to get more stamping in my schedule very soon, so be sure to check back often!

Monday Montage Week #195

Hello and thank you for joining us today for our Monday Montage Blog Hop! Summer is winding down and school is about to start! A lot has been happening around here including camping trips, back to school shopping and guests visiting! Time to stamp is hard to come by right now, but I squeezed in some time to make a card for my cutie niece! She is going to California to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She's staying an adventure and I wanted to make her a card to wish her well! Have a look!

The Stamp Set was just right for her card! And don't you just love the sentiment?! So perfect. Since she is going to California, the card clearly needed a palm tree! So I used one of the darling palm trees from the Share a Smile Kit. The flowers are from the Hippo Happiness Dies and I used the Suede Ribbon on my "luggage tag" sentiment. I hope she loved her card as much as I loved making it!

Monday Montage Week #194

Hello and happy Monday! Thank you for joining us for the Monday Montage Blog Hop! Is it blistering hot where you are? This summer has been sooooo hot, and the heat isn't letting up anytime soon! My flowers are struggling and my lawn is brown. I'm dreaming of cooler days! So when my daughter needed a bridal shower card for her friend, I turned to the Forever Fern Stamp Set and the coordinating Forever Flourishing Dies! These gorgeous products remind me of Spring and everything green!

I ended up making two cards. I made the gold and white card first and I thought it might be a little too fancy for the recipient's taste. My daughter agreed with me, so I made a second card with some beautiful green colors and I think it will be perfect! Here are some close-ups!

I do love the elegance and simplicity of this white and gold card! It will make a perfect wedding card for a future occasion!

This is the card that will go to the bridal shower with my daughter! Since the DSP that coordinates with this set is retired, I decided to make my own DSP! And I love it! The color combo is Shaded Spruce, Garden Green, Just Jade with some Crumb Cake splatters. I'm so happy with how it turned out! And I adore the Forever Fern Stamp Set! The detail on the images is amazing!

Monday Montage Week #192

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be hopping again after a few weeks off. Summer is fun but crazy for me, so I haven't had much time to stamp! But I did a marathon stamp session last Saturday night and made two Father's Day cards and one get well card. Even though Father's Day has passed, today I am going to share the two cards that I made because they could easily be made into masculine birthday cards. And we all need masculine card ideas, am I right? The first one I am sharing went to my wonderful hubby!

This was a fun card to make! My husband cooks every Sunday-I know, I am spoiled! And to tell you the truth, he is a better cook than I am! I can follow a recipe, but he can actually cook-with no recipes! He just throws things together, and everything he makes tastes great! And this year he asked for a new apron for one of his Father's Day gifts, so of course I had to make a cooking themed card to go with it! And the What's Cookin' Bundle did the trick! I also used the May 2021 Paper Pumpkin for the sentiment and the embellishments.

The next card I have for you today is the card I made for my father-in-law.

Can I just say that some times coming up with masculine card ideas is hard? My husband's card was easy because the card idea came from his gift, but sometimes it's difficult to come up with new ideas! I have made so many outdoor themed cards for my father-in-law, and this one is no exception. But this time I used some shimmery dragonflies to add something unexpected as well! And the Layering Diorama Dies were fun to play with as well!

Monday Montage Week #189

Aloha!! I'm posting today from beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii!! My daughter has been living here for the semester and is moving back home! So what is a mom to do? Fly to Hawaii, spend a week with my daughter and then fly home together! We are having so much fun, but before I left, I had some fun with the Hydrangea Haven Bundle!

Why did I wait so long to get this bundle? I loved it the minute I saw it in the Mini Catalog, but for one reason or another, I just got it. But it was worth the wait! I love it!!! It's so easy to make stunning cards!

Here are the close-ups:

The first card is a wedding card for my son's baseball coach. I wanted the card to be elegant and mostly white with a little bit of soft color. Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam were perfect!
The second card is a Mother's Day Card with more traditional hydrangea colors. I used Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and little hints of Misty Moonlight., With Pear Pizza for the leaves and stem.
For both cards I used Shimmer White paper and a Water Painter to add the color.

Here is a photo of this beautiful bundle:
