Monday Montage Week #158

Hello, hello! Did you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day? I did! We have some fun traditions that have carried on even though my kids are getting older. We start off with a family candle light dinner at home (we started this tradition before we even had kids after waiting for several hours to be seated at a restaurant on Valentine's day when we were newly weds). Then I hide a small gift with a handmade Valentine card for each member of the family. We play hot and cold until they find them! It is fun and they still enjoy it after all of these years. Or at least they humor me!! Here are the two Valentines I made for my favorite guys-my hubby and my son!

The Pedal to the Metal Stamp Set was perfect for both of them because my son rides a yellow Suzuki and my husband drives a blue Toyota Tundra. And the Waterfront Stamp Set just goes with everything outdoors perfectly!

I did kind of cheat because I used the same layout for both cards, but after I made the first card, I loved it so much that I made the second one to match! And even though Valentine's day is over, these would be perfect birthday cards for the guys in your life! Just swap out the Valentine sentiment for the happy birthday that comes in the Pedal to the Metal Stamp Set and you're good to go! I  actually had to use the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set to turn these into Valentine's!

A Dandelion Wishes Valentine!

For Valentine's Day  I thought I would show a little love to one of the darling sets in the Annual Catalog! Dandelion Wishes is definitely a favorite of mine because I have many memories of me and my own children making wishes on dandelions (and because it's adorable)!

This is the perfect stamp set for Valentine's Day, Anniversary, Get Well or even birthdays! After stamping the dandelion images with Smoky Slate Ink on Pool Party Cardstock, I quickly sprinkled it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and embossed it with the Heat Tool. I used White Craft Ink and a Sponge Dauber to highlight the dandelions. Then I sponged around the white ink with Pool Party Ink- lightly at one end, and gradually getting darker towards the other end. I added a tiny little heart from the Stitched Be Mine Dies to the center of one of the dandelions to make this card a Valentine's Day Card, but you could leave that off for other occasions! I colored over the heart with Wink of Stella to give it some shine, and then flicked more Wink of Stella over the whole card, just for good measure!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy Valentine's Day!!

January 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects!

The January Paper Pumpkin is full of hearts, flowers and all of the accessories to make the sweetest projects!  And the best part? They all come together in a snap!  Another great thing about the January Kit is that you can make gifts and cards for Valentine's Day or many other occasions!

And guess what?!! The kit coordinates with the Heart Punch Pack! So I was able to punch white scalloped hearts and layer them behind the hearts included in the kit!

These cute little treat holders are perfect for all of your valentines! You can give them to your kids, coworkers, neighbors etc! I swapped punched out hearts from the From my Heart Designer Series Paper to give these little treat holders more traditional Valentine colors.
