Door Hanger Tutorial

Good morning!
Today I'm posting the door hanger tutorial that was featured in yesterday's Monday Montage post. It's really easy to make, and can be used for any occasion! The perfect way to leave a treat on the door of a family member, friend or co-worker!

Step 1

First cut one piece of cardstock to 7-12" by 3" and set aside. Cut a second piece to 6-1/2" to 3-3/4" as shown in step 1.

Step 2

Score the second piece of cardstock at 1/2", 1-1/2", 4-1/2" and 5-1/2" as shown in step 2.

Step 3

Turn the cardstock 90 degrees and score at 1/2" and 1-1/2" as shown in step 3.

Step 4

Next, fold on all score lines and crease each fold with the Bone Folder. Cut out the bottom left and the bottom right corners where the score lines intersect as shown in Step 4.

Step 5

Notch all of the edges as shown in Step 5.

Step 6

Apply Tear & Tape Adhesive to all the edges as shown in step 6.

Step 7

Adhere the piece prepared in steps 2-5 to the bottom of the first piece of cardstock reserved in Step 1. Round the top two corners using the Detailed Trio Punch as shown in Step 7. 

Step 8

Cut out a circle using the 2-1/8" circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits and decorate as desired as shown in step 8.

Woo hoo! It's the week of Halloween! Can you believe it? It's here already! So for our Monday Montage Blog Hop I couldn't resist sharing a couple more Halloween projects, a door hanger to leave a treat and a matching card that would also be darling framed.

Here are some closeups! I used the Cauldron Bubble Bundle to create the cute scenes on these projects. The Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  was perfect for the dark forest background on the card. And of course I applied Wink of Stella generously on both projects!

Since Halloween is fast approaching, I have some cute little Halloween characters for you that I made with the Take Out Treats Bundle! 

Here are some close ups of the little guys!

Don't you just love this little mummy? I can hardly stand how cute he is! And he came together in a snap! I used torn strips of Whisper White Cardstock and I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake Classic Ink. So easy!

This pumpkin box was inspired by Rachel Tessman. Isn't he adorable too? And the possibilities really are endless! I am thinking these boxes could be made into a witch, scarecrow, dracula, you name it!

Monday Montage Week #125

Woo hoo! It's Monday Montage! I am so excited to be hopping with you all today! And I am even more excited to be sharing a card I made using one of my all time favorite Suites from the Holiday Catalog! If you haven't seen it for yourself, I am telling you, the Country Lane Suite is amazing! The images in the Country Home Stamp Set are beautiful and just my style! And the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is to die for!! I also am in love with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Festive Farmhouse Suite.

To make the Tin Tile background look aged, I sponged it lightly with a Sponge Dauber and Crumb Cake Ink. I did that on the Corrugated piece as well! I love the dimension that sponging adds! The Watercolor pencils and Watercolor paper were perfect for this card, although the Stampin' Blends would be gorgeous too! I carefully cut about an inch of the Chicken Wire Elements so that it could peak out from behind the front panel of the card.

Monday Montage Week #123

Welcome friends to another round of Monday Montage! I am so glad you are hopping with us! Today I am sharing the birthday card I made for my daughter. She LOVES Disneyland and we are currently planning a trip there, so I wanted to make a Disney themed card. When I saw the Broadway Bound Suite in the Annual Catalog, I saw the Mickey possibilities and this card is the result!

It's hard to see in the photos, but I used Wink of Stella all over this card to give it some awesome shine! You can kind of see it in the close up below. I also included a photo of the inside of the card. The ice cream shape in the set is the perfect Dole Whip! And we all love Dole Whip at my house-especially Dole Whip eaten at Disneyland!

Monday Montage Week #122

Happy Monday and Happy Monday Montage Blog Hop! I am so happy you could join us on this beautiful and hot August day! And speaking of August, can you believe it is August? Already? For me, August is the second busiest month of the year, with December being the first. Not only is it the end of summer and the start of school, but two of my kids were born in August, six days apart! Well, five years and 6 days apart, but their birthdays are six days apart! 
Today I am going to share the birthday card I made for my son. But first, I wanted to give you a little of the back story of this card. My son LOVES Star Wars. He is a walking Star Wars encyclopedia. If there is anything you want to know about Star Wars, even some obscure little detail, just ask him and he will give you the answer. Because of that, I wanted to make him a Star Wars birthday card. I decided on Boba Fett, and I thought I would use punches to create Boba Fett. Well, after looking at my punches and dies, I changed my mind and decided to draw Boba Fett. Now I am not an artitst, at least not a pick up a pencil and draw something kind of artist. All of my kids have that talent, but it's not something I have done a lot. So I am putting myself out there a bit and showing you all this card anyway!

I used the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens to color in my drawing. Then I Sponged Crumb Cake Ink all over it to blend it even more. It's a simple drawing, but I am pretty happy with the way the card turned out! And my son loved it, so that is what matters!

To make the background, I added a few drops of Early Espresso Ink Refill to some Embossing Paste and spread it over the bricks pattern from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks with the Palette Knives. I love the texture of the Embossing Paste!! And here is a look at the inside of the card, just so you can see the rest of the sentiment (A sentiment that I saw on a card on Pinterest):
